Hi, I’m James – founder and owner of Lean Green Books. I started this business after spending nearly a decade in accounting and finance roles in New York City, where I worked with CFOs, executives, and business owners across industries.

I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting and finance from Florida State University and hold an active CPA license. My career began at Deloitte, where I audited Fortune 500 companies and private equity firms. From there, I joined Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group, guiding CFOs through buy- and sell-side due diligence. Later, I transitioned to Warner Music Group, where I helped evaluate global artist deals and presented financial reporting to the CFO and Board of Directors.

These experiences taught me what business leaders really need: timely, accurate books and clear insights that support better decisions. That’s why I established Lean Green Books – to bring that same high-level financial discipline to small business owners without the corporate overhead.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, at the gym, traveling abroad, or playing piano and guitar.
